Bent River Brewing Company
The finest handcrafted beers in the Quad Cities
  History

Local legend has it that when the Father of Waters passed by this area, he was so tantalized by the beauty of the surrounding land that he turned his head to admire the view. This is why the Mississippi River runs east and west through the Quad Cities.

In 1843, Moline, Illinois was platted. The name comes from the French "Moulin" or City of Mills, because it prospered from all the sawmills handling thousands of logs sent down the river. In 1847, a blacksmith by the name of John Deere arrived in Moline and built his first factory to produce steel plows. Industrious immigrants from around the globe headed to Moline to find work in the growing farm implement industry. The rest is history; Moline is now the headquarters of Deere and Company, the largest farm implement manufacturing concern in the world. In keeping with this proud tradition of hard work and faith in the free enterprise system, the Bent River Brewing Company was formed. Located in the historic Olde Towne river-front area of Moline, the turn-of-the-century building captures the spirit of that bygone era of rugged individuals with its two store fronts and decorative stone arches. The "River" staff is dedicated to producing hand-crafted beers that capture the spirit of the traditional brews enjoyed by these hardy pioneers. Take home a quality product "brewed with love" in the QCA!
